KINGDOM OF YAHWEH AND HIS COVENANT CHILDREN – 003

PART 1: GENESIS 1-11

Genesis Chapter 2

1. Institution of Marriage between Man and Woman

1.1. The man was created from the “dust” of the ground (red clay) (2:7).

1.2. YAHWEH named him “Adam” (meaning, “a human being”, also “first man’s real name”). God has authority over him as his Creator.
1.3. Man was given a command not to eat the fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.

1.4. Right in front of his own eyes, Adam saw a small creation of Garden of Eden was taking place. From his careful observation, Adam could easily guess what it could have been at the original creation of the whole universe.

1.5. Naming those creatures in pairs in the Garden of Eden made Adam aware of his lonely life on earth. (2:20) At the same time naming those creatures meant Adam’s rule over those being named by him.

1.6. Out of Adam’s rib, God created the female human being. Adam immediately recognized her substance as the same human species – homo sapiens.

1.7. Adam named the female “Woman” – “taken out of a Man.” (2:23)

1.8. The Creator God instituted a Marriage between the male and the female human beings. No same gender/transgender marriages were allowed in God’s blessed plan.
Marriage is a covenant between the man and the woman before God.

1.9. “Leave” and “Cleave” principle has been established as the man’s adequate qualification for his marriage. Physical, Emotional, and Financial Independence was necessary for the male to get married to a female in God’s blessed plan.

1.10. In their innocent stage, they felt no shame to their own naked bodies.

Food for Thoughts:

1. What is the implied meaning for Adam’s naming of the female human being?

2. What are the God-given Marriage principles?
